Thangka Brocading Option

Hosting a thangka or a Tibetan painting on a silk brocade is the process of housing a thangka for its protection, as the Tibetan monks had to travel to various places, they would often put the thangkas on a silk brocade and carry it along with them where ever they went. This brocade protected the thangka from being damaged while the monks traveled.

Polyester Brocade

This is the most popular and economical brocade due to its beautiful design and easy availability. These textiles come from China and are made of polyester mixed with silk. They are very strong and equally good for the brocading of the thangka.

These brocades are of silk and these material are a lot better than the Polyester Brocades.Due to its texture and quality they are slightly expensive than the polyester.

These materials are exquisite in nature and tend to be heavier compared to other materials. As they highlight the thangka even better, there is a tendacy of this brocade being expensive than the average priced thangka. These are especially recommended for high quality thangkas.
